Join Mark Rossetti for an evening of lively conversation about the urgency of good government & how technology can be a part of bringing about impactful change. We'll review the lessons government can learn from the Tech Industry including modular & encapsulated design, refactoring vs. rebuilding, sprinting, & designing based on user feedback. We'll have a chance to look at the contributions made by Code for America & specific opportunities for you to get involved with civic tech.

Mark Rossetti is a software engineer with a passion for civic & government technology who believes that improving government & public infrastructure is crucial to ensuring the future prosperity of our communities. Far from following a traditional computer science path, his career has been a blend of coding, international business, product management, sales, customer service, & more. His experience in the world of tech started at Hack Reactor, & has carried him to companies large & small, & now into the world of government. He presently works at Code for America, a non-profit in San Francisco that uses user-centered design & iterative development practices to improve the delivery of government services from policing to food assistance.

Mark spends his spare time on music, acroyoga, & writing, & maintains an enduring fondness for the outdoors. He lives in San Francisco, not far from where he grew up in San Jose.
