Description
Paxos and Consensus - Bob Hancock

Paxos is an algorithm that underlies the logging system that insures consensus for many Google services, including Chubby the distributed locking mechanism. We'll discuss how Paxos works and the impact it has on distributed systems. There are many Google technologies that are not open source, but the work that went into them is referenced in papers from both Google and the ACM. We'll use these as the basis for our discussion.

Lightning Talk: Filip Babalevsky on Google Knowledge Graph

More lightning talks by members are needed and welcomed.

We will have several books from O'Reilly and Google schwag to give away.
