Bio:
Grant Ammons is the VP of Engineering at PipelineDeals, a sales CRM platform. Grant is focused on building better software products and engineering teams through fostering an amazing team culture, developing software smarter, and utilizing the right metrics. He has hired and currently manages multiple development teams, defined and matured the software development process, and built an infrastructure with three 9s of uptime.

Talk Description:
Grant tells the story of how he leveled up his team through iterating on their software development process. His team went from an ad-hoc development process to Scrum, which introduced needed discipline and rigor to their development process. However, 1 year into scrum, his team's morale was tanking because of sprint deadlines and all-day sprint planning meetings. They found a better way through implementing Kanban. They kept many of the rituals and practices that Scrum introduced, and removed the rigid sprint deadlines every 2 weeks. As a result, the team is much happier and still just as disciplined.
