Big Data is bigger than ever. The insertion and processing of billions of lines of data is at the core of many industries and use cases, and it is impossible to predict the rate at which data will flow into your environment. At high-volume times it is crucial that your database can scale to your needs, both up and down.

In this session Paul Adams from Crate.IO will demonstrate Crate, a distributed, shared-nothing SQL database and how it can handle large and constantly changing data sets such as business intelligence, marketing, IoT, or data that needs realtime search. Crate is perfectly suited to be your main database.

Paul will show how to deploy Crate onPacket.netinfrastructure, and use Apache Mesos as the underlying architecture for creating and scaling the cluster. He will demonstrate fast insertion of data, querying to get the results you need and how to make use of these in application and analysis stacks.
