Opens for registration 3/10 at 8:30AM. This workshop will be taught over 2 nights running Tuesday (3/28) and Thursday (3/30) 7-9pm both days.This class is $40.00; the cost covers both days of courses.

Please meet on the 12th Floor at Thoughtworks.

Nightwatch is a Node.js based End-to-End (E2E) automated testing for browser based apps and websites. Automated testing saves development time and allows for collaborative continuous integration (e.g., Circle CI, Travis, SauceLabs)

Prerequisites:


You should have a good understanding of testing and the importance of automating the process for development. As well asJavascript, HTML, CSS, Text editor (eg, Atom, emacs, vim)

Learning Objectives:

- Introduction to Nightwatch.JS - browser automated testing
- Installation and Configuration of nightwatch.json
- Browser Driver Setup (i.e., ChromeDriver)
- Clone github repo (optional)
- Data driven Configuration
- Writing and Running Tests

Class Schedule:

Day 1: Installation and configuration of Nightwatch.JS | Thursday, March 28th 7-9PM

Day 2: Data Driven testing configuration and Walkthroughs| Thursday, March 30th 7-9PM

Tech requirements:

We'll spend part of the class helping you set up a development environment, so there's no need to install software ahead of time, however for any Windows users we strongly suggest you show up on time for setup. Bring your laptopand charger. (Note: A netbook or tablet is NOT a substitute.)


Scholarships:

Scholarships are not offered for workshops, only 4 session courses.

There are no refunds or make-ups for this course.If you end up being unable to attend any or all of these dates, the entire amount of your tuition will be donated to our scholarship fund to help other women who need financial assistance. Thank you for understanding.

About the instructor


Christie Ewen is a computer scientist and AI entrepreneur/founder of Vitarch. Christie holds BS/BE degrees in CS/EE from NYU/SIT and is a certified audio engineer.
