We're excited to announce the fourth meetup of Video Tech NYC, hosted by Animoto! This month's meetup will feature a speaker from Animoto's video engine team and Mic's product engineering team. Join us for an evening of food, beverages, and great conversations about online video.
THE LINEUP:
Creating and A/B Testing a Video Player in React
Dan Phillips, Product Engineer at Mic
Description:This yearMicdesigned and implemented a right rail video system to more effectively expose their video content and advertising without distracting from their site content. To accomplish their goals, Mic developed a React JW Player component that exposes Component Event Hooks on top of JW Players native API and allows them to capture enhanced event analytics. In this talk, Dan will discuss technologies used, test coverage across 12 player versions, logic extraction, and overall takeaways from the project.
Tips & Tricks to Handle in-browser Caching of Video Clips
by Krister Wombell, Animoto
Description:Animotos Marketing Video Builder product uses realtime motion graphics in the browser for project previews. Playing back video clips within a motion graphics engine smoothly, without buffering on multiple platforms and browsers presents some unique challenges. In this talk, Krister will go over what Animoto had to do to support these requirements.

Looking forward to seeing all of you!
