Description
Are you thinking of starting a travel company or have you recently started one? If so, you're probably thinking about how to attract and retain talent. If not, you should be! Finding the right people to help you build your company and realize your vision is one of the biggest make or break factors in starting any venture. These days competition for talent, especially in technology, is as fierce as ever. Figuring out how to fairly incentivize and retain crucial team members is a complex and important challenge every entrepreneur should be thinking about. But we find that this topic is often a source of confusion, and thus many people put it off for too long.
That's why we're happy to announce a presentation by legal counsel Herb Moore from SorinRand on Feb 7th, 2013 covering the topic of equity incentives for employees, consultants and advisers. Herb will talk about ways that entrepreneurs can attract, retain and incentivize individuals by offering equity in their corporation or LLC, options to purchase equity or adopting bonus plans based on the company’s performance.
Herb was recommended by one of our members who has seen him present before and found it very informative. So we decided that we should veer from our normal format of presentations by startup founders for this excellent educational opportunity.

Bio: Herb Moore is a business law attorney practicing with SorinRand LLP which has offices in NJ, NYC and PA. He concentrates his practice on advising entrepreneurial clients and early-stage investors with respect to a full range of general corporate, transactional and securities law matters. He has developed particular expertise in counseling technology start-ups as well as negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements for emerging growth and middle market technology companies.Prior to joining SorinRand in July 2011, Herb spent six years practicing with Gallagher, Briody & Butler, a corporate and securities law boutique in Princeton, representing a variety of public and private companies. Herb graduated from New York Law School in 2002 after graduating from Rutgers University in 1999. Herb is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York. A passionate saltwater fisherman, most of Herb’s travel involves packing a few rods, reels and lures to explore local fishing opportunities.
