Join us to dive into full stack web development and learn about the full stack from the front end to the back end. In this full-day workshop, we'll collectively work through HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Ruby. All of these elements combine to make the World Wide Web go round!
Specifically, we'll cover:
* All the tools you need to get up, running and coding with HTML, CSS, Ruby and JavaScript
* Building and styling a basic webpage with HTML and CSS
* Basic programming concepts like variables, loops, functions, strings, arrays and objects
* How to write these things in JavaScript and Ruby
Interacting with the HTML and CSS of a webpage using JavaScript
* Setting up a simple web server using Ruby and sending HTML pages to a browser
* The basics of interacting with a third party API (the Twitter API in this workshop)

Prerequisite: A basic understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Ruby (e.g. topics covered in Codecademy's HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Ruby tracks).
This event is open to adult (18+) beginners and is an introduction to concepts covered more deeply in the immersive program. Please bring your own laptop (Mac-preferred). Lunch will be provided.
