Noam Cohen is the former tech columnist for The New York Times, where he wrote the Link by Link column from 2008 to 2014 coveringthe influence of digital technologies on global culture & the economy, including some of the Times earliest coverage of Wikipedia, Bitcoin, andTwitter. His front page stories reported on the first big Wikileaks leak (co-reported with Brian Stelter in 2010), Wikipedias contributor gender gap in2011, & the investigation & death of Reddit co-founder & Internet activist Aaron Swartzin 2013. Cohen has also contributed to publications such as New York Magazine & Dissentand has appeared on NPRs Talk of the Nation & the award-winning documentary Page One.

Whether interviewing Julian Assange or writing about the early adopters of Bitcoin, Cohenspotlights the real people behind the companies & technology of Silicon Valley. His notablyhumane approach to the tech industry is exemplified in the obituary of the Wikipedia editorAdrianne Wadewitz, who focused on building its catalogue on female authors & womens history, & Cohens feature about the onset phenomenon of Twitter ghost writers for high-profilenames like 50 Cent & Britney Spears to Ron Paul. Cohens op-eds drawing the ties betweenSilicon Valley & disruption culture with Trumps candidacy & election ran in The New YorkTimes in July 2016 & November 2016, respectively.
