Join <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.besocialchange.com/" REL="nofollow">Be Social Change</A> on Monday, September 21st from 7PM to 9PM for Transformative Storytelling - Using Narrative to Communicate, Inspire, and Activate Your Community with Lee-Sean Huang, Cofounder and Creative Director of <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.foossa.com" REL="nofollow">Foossa</A>. 
Storytelling is more than a marketing tool. It's a management tool.
In this class, we uncover the narrative structures and strategies used by social change practitioners and entrepreneurs for building community and inspiring action. This is a workshop for makers and social entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their skills in storytelling to transform themselves, their teams, and their broader communities. Storytelling is a powerful tool for building a shared identity, for facilitating mutual understanding, and for facilitating collective action. 
We will draw upon successful storytelling methodologies and strategies from the fields of social activism, marketing, and the arts. We will examine and decode examples of successful (and not so successful) storytelling. This class will get hands on with activities and exercises that will encourage participants to practice their new storytelling skills.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

As a community-centered designer and social innovation strategist, he has devoted his career to fostering creative civic participation and building movements for the common good. 
He was previously the founding member of the design practice at Purpose, creative director of Meu Rio and a co-founder of Hepnova Multimedia. He has worked on five continents and has collaborated with organizations including the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, the SEIU, the Dalai Lama Center, the Brazil Foundation, the Packard Foundation, the Grammy Foundation, the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Tenement Museum. 
Lee-Sean is a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts MFA Design for Social Innovation and has previously lectured and taught at the New School, New York University, Cornell Tech, the College of Staten Island, the University of California Los Angeles, and the University of Hawai'i.
