Technology Meets the Future of Fashion 
 
Join us for the third and final installment in our series The Future of Fashion, where we'll take a look at ways new technology is impacting production and manufacturing of the items we wear. 
We'll be looking at alternatives to high fashion materials and how they are helping to reduce the fashions industries carbon footprint. We'll hear how new technology is helping to keep existing products competitive in a changing market. How bringing new materials into third world countries is changing the lives of young women. Lastly, we'll look at how wearable tech will be impacting our everyday lives.
Our panel of experts will discuss topics concerning how the fast paced tech world is bridging the gap between fashion and a more sustainable future.
During the event we will be hosting a pop-up shop with our partner stopTHINKshop. The pop-up shop will feature designers using technology in their fashion to build a more sustainable industry, including the use of high tech fabrics, 3-d printing with sustainable materials, and connecting consumers with artisans in developing countries. Attendees can browse and purchase from the shop from 6:30 until 9pm.

Stephanie Joy Benedetto is Co-Founder of <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.paperno9.com/">Paper No. 9</A>, a Brooklyn-based design lab specializing in bespoke sustainable textiles. Paper No. 9 was a 2013 WGSN Global Fashion Awards finalist and has been featured in Vogue, WWD, InStyle, Drapers, Interview, Fast Company, Huffington Post, and New York Magazine - The Cut. Prior to Paper No. 9, Stephanie was a corporate attorney in New York where she helped entrepreneurs and public and private companies reach their goals. Since co-founding Paper No. 9, Stephanie has become an advocate for women in business and sustainable fashion. 

Richard Honiball | SVP Marketing, Licensing & E-Commerce at <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.haggar.com/">Haggar Clothing Co.</A>
Richard Honiball is the SVP of Marketing, Licensing & E-Commerce for <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.haggar.com/">Haggar Clothing Co.</A> In this role, Honiball is responsible for the company's branding and advertising strategies, for leading and developing its licensing partnerships and for spearheading the growth of its online strategies. Prior to joining Haggar, Honiball was the VP of PD, Design & Trend for Men's & Kids at JC Penney, responsible for leadership teams that led JCP's private label brands with an annual sales volume of over $2.4 billion. Over the span of his career, Honiball has held extensive retail positions at Brooks Brothers and Jos. A. Bank in merchandising, brand development & marketing, product development & sourcing, multi-store management and new business development. He also owned two retail concept stores early in his career.

Miki is an identical twin, half-Japanese, half-Indian French Canadian, former professional soccer player and graduate of Cornell University. 
Crystal Butler | Founder of <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/bodylab.net">bodyLAB</A>
Crystal Butler is a 15-year veteran of the apparel industry whose background includes retail management, buying, and manufacturing. From 2000 to 2011 she was co-founder and designer at a small apparel firm called SuperLuckyCat, where she restyled used clothing into new women's clothing. Her development of a unique workflow that combined traditional manufacturing processes with hand sorting and preparation of used materials allowed SuperLuckyCat to mass produce one-of-a-kind garments that were sold in boutiques and chain stores nationwide. Currently she is transitioning to designing wearable technology with a production partner from Google. Her startup <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/bodylab.net">bodyLAB</A>, will be launching its first product on Kickstarter in July.

Summer Oaks 
Summer Rayne Oakes has taken an unlikely career path, having parlayed her background in environmental science and entomology from Cornell University with a successful career as a fashion model aligned with more environmentally- and socially-conscious brands. She co-founded <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://source4style.com/">Source4Style</A>, a worldwide marketplace for novel and sustainable materials featuring suppliers in nearly 40 countries and catering to designers in 80 countries around the world; co-authored Style, Naturally; and has produced a range of environmentally-preferable products from brands like Portico Home to Payless ShoeSource. She has appeared in this past year's <A STYLE="text-decoration: none;" HREF="http://www.summerrayne.net/blog/pirelli-calendar-2013s-soulful-departure/">Pirelli Calendar</A> shot by Steve McCurry, emphasizing women whose work revolves around the environment; and was the muse behind the creation of Toyota's new hybrid car, the Prius C. She is currently working to re-energize the love for local food through Good Eggs, a new farm-to-fridge grocer based in the United States.
