Ray Tsang & Bret McGowen (Google)

Ray & Bret will walk through features of the Google Cloud Platform used in building the Google Cloud Spin demo shown at recent #GCPNext events. The demo uses an orchestrated set of smartphones to capture multi-angle views of the same event, upload them to the cloud and have them stitched together in real time to create a single 180-degree snapshot of that moment.

This is a "prep" session for an upcoming (August) Tango hackathon (keep your eyes open for that notice soon). If you are interested in Android, virtual/augmented reality, immersive experiences or games, 3D motion tracking etc., then you won't want to miss this.

We'll cover various Tango-related concepts and APIs.

7:45pm: Tango + Unity SDK CodeLab Walkthrough

Ralph, Nitya & Dario(GDG New York Organizers)

Walk through theIO 2015Tango + Unity Codelaband learn to extend an existing Unity game to use Project Tango's motion-tracking functionality to control the camera.


IMPORTANT:

If you want to do the codelab on your own, pleaselook at the link for the codelaband make sure you have pre-installed all dependencies (Unity 4.6.x, Android SDK, Project Tango Unity SDK, Lollygagger Sample game)

We'll have a couple of Tango devices on hand so you can take turns to run the outcomes of each step on the actual device. The goal however is to ensure that you have the right environments setup, and have a good understanding of the various concepts & components prior to attending the upcoming (August) hackathon event.
