Green Building Worldwide Magazine is pleased to announce the Wall Street Sustainable Cities & Infrastructure Roundtable featuring another dynamic discussion on the role of Strategic Investments in Sustainability.
Overview:
These Roundtables are designed explore strategic sustainable building and funding opportunities.
Estimates from the United Nations Environmental Program state that the combined investments in clean energy will only grow over the next 10 years, expanding to almost $400 billion by 2023. Green Building Worldwide (GBW) believes that the evolution of Sustainably Built Assets will be influenced by continued investments in renewables coupled with public private partnerships.

As the President at Bright Power, Mr. Perlman is daily involved in solving the most challenging energy problems facing building owners today. He is an experienced energy auditor, analyst and solar energy system designer with diverse certifications from BPI, CEM, LEED AP and the NYSERDA Small Commercial Lighting Program. Mr. Perlman is highly recognized as the President & Co-Founder of EnergyScoreCardsTM, a subsidiary of Bright Power, and has also co-authored "The Cost and Financial Benefits of Green Building", a ground-breaking report that used cost/benefit analysis to depict that building healthy, energy efficient and environmentally responsible buildings makes economic sense.
Bright Power specializes in multifamily apartment buildings, energy management, procurement, solar energy, green buildings and construction management of energy equipment. Their energy management expertise and benchmarking software has been applied to over 13,000 buildings. Recognized for installing 300 kW solar PV systems, the largest solar renewable energy system on a residential development in New York at the Gateway Elton Street Phase II, Bright Power's energy saving innovations have also featured in the sustainable affordable housing development, "Via Verde" in the Bronx. Currently, Bright Power is now part of an elite list of solar installers who were awarded access to $30 million funding by NYSERDA and the state Public Service Commission.

Jordan Schellins, Assistant Project Manager, NYSERDA:
Ms. Schellins manages projects through the NYSERDA New Construction Program in New York City and Westchester. A LEED GA and is an Energy Manager in Training (EMIT), Jordan has also worked as an Assistant Project Manager on the NYSERDA Existing Facilities Program.
New Construction Program: Through this program, $90,981,268 is available to conduct technical assessments of energy efficiency improvements in building designs and to offset a portion of the incremental capital costs to purchase and install energy-efficient equipment in buildings to reduce energy consumption. Additional incentives and services are offered for buildings that achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or New York Collaborative for High Performance Schools (NY-CHPS) certification.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation, offers objective information and analysis, innovative programs, technical expertise, and funding to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency, save money, use renewable energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. NYSERDA professionals work to protect the environment and create clean energy jobs. NYSERDA has been developing partnerships to advance innovative energy solutions in New York State since 1975.NYSERDA is primarily funded by state ratepayers through the System Benefits Charge. These funds are allocated toward energy-efficiency programs, research and development initiatives, low-income energy programs, and environmental disclosure activities.

Charlie has extensively worked within the Commercial Real Estate and Investment sectors and now heads Green Building Worldwide. She advocates for sustainable infrastructural development - engaging its constituents through discussion, and information exchange. She has extensive experience developing and leading Public Private Partnerships with the first significant undertaking being Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the New York City Empowerment Zone during its Federal application process. Charlie has been a constant advisor to Consulates and the Chambers of Commerce and is described as an "all around force."
