EVENT DETAILS
You are invited to join Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, and Tech:NYC for the latest installment of the CornellTech@Bloomberg series, featuring Danny Meyer, restaurateur, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and founder of Shake Shack. After more than thirty years in the industry, Meyer remains a frontrunner in the New York City food scene, with consistently strong public reception, four-star customer experiences, and an unprecedented 28 James Beard Awards.

Meyer will join Vonnie Quinn of Bloomberg News for an onstage discussion about his career and life and the evolving intersection of hospitality and technology. As a pioneer of technological integrations, including Apple Watches in the newly renovated and iconic Union Square Cafe, to cutting edge restaurant concepts, and top notch employee benefits, Meyers ideas continue to shake up and shape the future of restaurant services.

Danny Meyer

Danny Meyer is the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), which includes Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Blue Smoke, Jazz Standard, The Modern, Maialino, Untitled, North End Grill, Marta, Union Square Events, and Hospitality Quotient. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Meyer grew up in a family that relished great food, cooking, get-togethers, travel and hospitality. In 1985, at age 27, Meyer launched Union Square Cafe, pioneering a new breed of American eatery. In the summer of 2004, USHG launched Shake Shack in Madison Park. Since then new Shake Shack locations have opened across the East Coast and internationally.

In December 2005, USHG launched a full-service catering and sports and entertainment business, Union Square Events (formerly Hudson Yards). The following February, USHG launched Hospitality Quotient, a learning and consulting business. Meyer, his restaurants, and their chefs have earned an unprecedented 28 James Beard Awards.

Meyer serves on the board of Share Our Strength and has long supported hunger relief initiatives, including City Harvest, Gods Love We Deliver, and the Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger. He is equally active in civic affairs, serving on the executive committees of NYC & Co, Union Square Partnership, and the Madison Square Park Conservancy.
