Influencer Conference 2014 (InfluencerCon) is proud to present Amplify. A global salon series designed to delve deeper into InfluencerCon themes in an intimate setting. Through presentations, keynotes & guest curated panels attendees will be exposed to new ideas and challenged to expand the conversation. Amplify salons will provide a social & intellectual environment to meet fellow influencers, exchange ideas and foster a community dedicated to authentic change. Design thinking has long been a significant force when it comes to shaping the look and feel of our physical world. Design and design thinking has impacted the tools we use, how they look and feel, how we relate to them and vice versa. Design thinking has also been employed to solve many of society's seemingly intractable social problems. With the stakes more high than ever have we reached a point where design is not enough? How do we turn the focus back on empathy in order to drive solutions that can truly impact social problems? Speakers: Garance Choko - Founder, Innovators Without Borders <IMG STYLE="margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; float: left;" SRC="https://cdn.evbuc.com/eventlogos/100870555/garancechokopicture.jpg" ALT="" WIDTH="150" HEIGHT="160">Garance is an entrepreneur, international system builder and behavioral innovation strategist currently residing in New York City. Born and raised in Paris, France, she started her career as a concert pianist at the age of 3. Later, when she moved to the United States to continue her performance studies, she fell in love with political theory and design practices. She has designed organizational structures, educational programs, impact evaluations and adaptive strategies for organizations in Europe, the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. She earned a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University. Garance's philosophy is rooted in challenging the notion of institutionalized expertise and its deriving power structures. She has used participatory design principles in her work with the US Congress, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Clinton Global Initiative, Purpose and The Lowline. As a speaker and educator, she has taught her unique framework for cross-cultural problem solving at the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University. Susan Ochshorn - Founder, ECE PolicyWorks <IMG STYLE="margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; float: left;" SRC="https://cdn.evbuc.com/eventlogos/100870555/susanochschorn.jpg" ALT="" WIDTH="150" HEIGHT="150">Susan Ochshorn is the founder and principal of ECE PolicyWorks, a consulting firm that specializes in early childhood policy research, program development, and project management. For more than 15 years, she has worked in a broad range of settings at the local, state, and national levels to move the needle for children and families, and to integrate ECE into the larger education reform conversation. A former journalist, Susan blogs at ECE Policy Matters and the Huffington Post. She is the author of Squandering Our Future, a book about the big ECE policy issues, forthcoming in 2015. Daniel Stillman - Founder, Design Gym <IMG STYLE="float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;" SRC="https://cdn.evbuc.com/eventlogos/100870555/danielstillman.jpg" ALT="" WIDTH="150">Daniel is a co-founder at <A HREF="http://www.thedesigngym.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow nofollow">The Design Gym</A>, an open innovation consultancy and community. Daniel started off as a Physicist, studied Industrial Design, then evolved into a User Experience Design Consultant. Prior to starting the Design Gym, he had the pleasure of working on product and service design projects, as well as mobile, web and embedded interfaces for clients from Abbot to Yamaha.
