Job Description
Soho Tech Labs builds startups. Backed by Lerer Ventures with extremely active participation form the General Partners and Advisors of the fund, Soho Tech Labs is an independent entity with the mission of creating compelling applications and growing those applications into standalone startups. Paul Berry, former CTO of Huffington Post and current CEO of Rebelmouse has built out a unique engineering infrastructure to productize ideas in the earliest stages, and we are looking for one proven and accomplished leader to bring structure and scale to our efforts.
General Manager
Responsibilities
run the Labs day to day
work side by side with Paul Berry and the Lerer Ventures team to build great things
contribute your vision and thinking to project selection
project manage the development of multiple applications at the same time
recruit and build teams around each product
own the “business” side of multiple startups in the first 180 days of their lives
Prepare companies for fundraising and assist project teams in strategizing and securing outside capital to “graduate” from the labs
Decide what to kill and what to double down on
Required Experience
3-5 years operating experience in the startup/venture community
successful track record of starting and building software applications
strong sense of macro technology and consumer trends
comfort and excellence in unstructured and loosely structured situations
get shit done attitude
doer not delegator
demonstrated passion for social and consumer applications
technical bent. You don’t need to be an engineer by background, but you do need to understand how products are built and be conversant with developers and designers
ambition. If you are not trying to make your mark here, than you don’t belong here
