Job Description
Crowdtap, a rapidly growing NYC startup, is a social marketing platform that finds brands' most passionate consumers and turns them into peer influencers to drive word-of-mouth at scale, both on and offline. Brands launch actions to Crowdtap’s member base of over 250,000 “Crowdtappers” as well as integrate their own existing communities from Facebook, Twitter, and CRM databases to drive marketing-specific activities. For consumers, Crowdtap is a fun, social game that lets them gain VIP status, access exclusive content and products, while earning perks and rewards for collaborating with their favorite brands.

Crowdtap was named Mashable's “Up-and-Coming Social Media Service” of the Year in late 2011 and clients include leading brands such as American Express, Microsoft, Old Navy, Verizon, and Dreamworks. Headquartered in New York, Crowdtap is funded by The Foundry Group and Tribeca Venture Partners.

The Internship:

Crowdtap is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and creative student to join our team as a Fall intern in the Product & User Experience Department. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn critical skills related to social media, product development, and community management while working in a team-based environment. At Crowdtap, you will be fully immersed in the inner-workings of a tech start-up company and have the opportunity to play a supporting role in building our platform!

Key Responsibilities:

As the Community Management Intern, you will be fully engaged with the consumers of the site, keeping the entire company abreast of the major trends in member satisfaction and content creation. Your responsibilities will include supporting Crowdtap's community managers to:

Moderate branded discussions
Review member-generated content across the platform
Manage and prioritize customer issues/requests
Report on member trends
Create content for social media sites
Key Qualifications:

In order to maximize the internship’s results, we are seeking students who:

Are currently earning a 4-year degree in entrepreneurship/marketing/advertising/communications/user experience or a related social science field from a reputable school
Are proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Are knowledgeable about social media (i.e. blogging, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Possess strong written, verbal communication and organization skills
Pay strong attention to detail and are resourceful
Have a desire to learn the inner workings of a technology start-up
Have a positive attitude
Have a good sense for trends and a pulse on “what’s next”
