Job Description
Kindling Inc. is looking for a passionate QA Engineer to join our team.
Kindling is a small firm of design-driven, passionate technologists who work in midtown Manhattan. We build state-of-the-art social innovation software. At Kindling you’ll be part of a tight-knit, supportive, creative, collaborative team that is passionate about building great user experiences, learning new skills and techniques, and doing the right thing.
We’re looking for someone who loves software and user experience and wants to own the Quality Assurance of the Kindling platform.
Owning Quality Assurance means for us that you will:
integrate with the Product and Art+Engineering teams throughout the development cycle;
be responsible for automated, manual, and load testing towards signing off on releases;
maintain the state, relevance and efficacy of specific tests in harmony with the development of the platform; and
proactively engage all technical areas of the platform including those that might not be immediately apparent, such as localization, asynchronous jobs, performance metrics, and more.
Requirements for this position include:
5+ years experience with manual testing, automated testing, load testing, and the setup and administration of complete test environments.
Experience leading test efforts, including developing full testing plans and leading others in testing tasks.
Experience with automated testing including Selenium.
Solid LAMP setup and administration experience.
Ability to spin up testing environments using Puppet and AWS.
Are either in or moving to NYC. If you’re living in New York, you are qualified to work here without sponsorship. (Sorry, we can’t currently sponsor H1-B candidates.)
Are a good communicator and enjoy working with a team of smart folks.
Additionally, it would be nice if you have:
Continuous integration and Jenkins experience.
Experience with Trac.
Experience with Git.
Some coding experience, particularly PHP.
