The DBA will manage, administer and maintain our database infrastructure ensuring data integrity, security and performance. We are looking for a senior database guru to own our entire data architecture and infrastructure. This position will be responsible for ensuring a solid foundation and will be integral in growing and evolving our product suite.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
24x7 management of database servers
Implement and maintain security and data encryption
Design and document database architecture and modeling based on business requirements
Create shell scripts for task automation
Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
Monitor systems and platforms for availability
Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
Install and test upgrades and patches
Evaluate and recommend new database technologies including data warehouse and reporting technologies
Required Qualifications:
8+ years DBA experience, 3+ recent years with PostgreSQL and related technologies
Knowledge of Postgres v8+ and its upgrade history.
Experience upgrading
Expert Linux administrator skills
Complete understanding of RDBM concepts and normalization
Experience with JBoss, Apache, mod_jk configuration
Experience with LDAP/Kerberos/Samba integrations with Active Directory
Posses a solid understanding of database system performance
Managing MySQL and data feeds
Experience tuning complex SQL queries involving sub-selects, views, triggers, rules, and procedures
Experience managing multiple database servers in a 24x7 environment
Ability to collaborate with developers on complete application solutions
BA/BS degree in computer science or similar
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manage and configure Postfix MTA, cyrus IMAP, CVS, and Git
Knowledge of Cisco networking and ASA configuration
Knowledge of email deliverability strategies
Knowledge of Apache server hardening and general information security ninja
Knowledge of VMware vSphere 4/5
Familiarity with configuration and environment management tools (e.g. Foreman, Puppet)
