HowAboutWe is an experience-driven dating and relationships brand. We help
people who are single and people in relationships to experience true romance
in the real world. Through our unique services and content we support our
members to fall in love and to stay in love.
We're a well-funded ($18.5mm), rapidly-growing startup with headquarters in
Brooklyn, NY. We build breathtaking products that transform people’s

We have three main products:
HowAboutWe Dating is the offline dating site. Our members start with the
words “How about we...” then describe the date they’d like to go on
(i.e. “How about we... have dinner at this cool rooftop restaurant I
know.”).
HowAboutWe for Couples makes it easy for a couple to have meaningful, shared
experiences together, again and again. Each month, members receive a new
DateBook — a curated catalogue of HowAboutWe Dates, hand-picked for their
quality and originality — choose the ones they like… and go.
The Date Report provides engaging, entertaining and enlightening content
about dating and relationships. It is the home of all content-oriented
initiatives carried out by the HowAboutWe brand.
Who You Are
You are a design student looking for experience working on a start-up product team.
You're interested in a range of creative exploration, spanning from user experience to
visual design. You're not afraid to jump into projects. You are an avid learner. You love
collaborating. You’re hungry to dive into product design.
You have:
A strong passion for good design
Attention to detail – and capacity to see the big picture.
Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Keynote
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Drive to be the very best, every day.
A plus:
Understanding of web standards and modern client-side engineering using
JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
Flash / Animation Experience.
The Job
You'll assist the design team in creating products and features for our Couples and
Dating websites and mobile apps. Daily work will include creating curated dates for our
Couples products, designing beautiful emails and promotional collateral, and assisting
the design team with larger scale projects.
You'll be deeply integrated into our team and sit in on design reviews, brainstorming
sessions, and development discussions to gain working knowledge of the product design
field. You'll also assist with project research, user testing, and conceptual design to help
evolve our brand. You'll work directly with our team of designers, developers, product
manager, and CEO.
This position is for a full-time or part-time internship on-site in our office in DUMBO.
