Corsis, an IT Auditing and infrastructure management firm (http://www.corsis.com), is seeking to expand its elite team of technology consultants to include a mid-level Systems Engineer specializing in virtualized environments hosting high-traffic web sites for a wide range of consumer-facing and SaaS companies. This role will be responsible for providing expertise and hands-on day-to-day management of hosting infrastructure for our clients in diverse industry verticals such as healthcare, media / publishing, and financial services.

Job Description
The Systems Engineer will oversee the management of servers, networks, security, and co-location environments serving web applications and infrastructure on behalf of our clients. In addition, this position will interact with clients’ application development teams to support new system development and existing applications to ensure maximum uptime. This position can be contract, contract-to-hire, or full time.
This person will be a part of a team which maintains and manages all networking and systems infrastructure, both internal and client-based. Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills for a wide variety of hardware and software platforms are required. The successful candidate will be presented with different deployment methods and should be able to implement them with limited supervision in new virtual environments in a scalable, secure and stable manner. This role will carry out deployment and maintenance plans while pro-actively adhering to industry best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Build and maintain Linux and Windows systems, various flavors
- Perform capacity planning and analysis
- Given appropriate direction from senior staff, implement new architectures and application environments with limited supervision
- Use various scripting languages to automate key tasks
- Monitor all systems and provides emergency response to minimize risk, outages, and data loss
- Participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation supporting multiple co-locations and cloud computing platforms
- Communicate technical concepts to technical or non-technical audiences as needed
- Mentor and train junior staff members
- Maintain a positive and responsive attitude to support requests from clients and other business units
- Create and maintain quality support documentation
- Participate in peer-review of installations/configurations as well as new and existing technologies
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of professional systems administration experience with exposure to a variety of hosting environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrably proficient problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, Linode or other PaaS, IaaS or VPS providers
- Strong scripting skills (Perl, shell, Python, we’re not picky)
- Experience administering large-scale web applications on modern platforms (Apache, nginx, IIS, Tomcat, PHP, etc.)
- Experience automating large-scale deployments with configuration, deployment and release management systems (Puppet, cfengine, Chef, etc.)
- Ability to maintain, monitor and optimize various database platforms including MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB
- Intimate understanding of scalable architecture concepts (load balancing, caching, redundancy, replication)
- Strong familiarity with common monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia, etc.
- Mastery of common Internet protocols including HTTP(S), SMTP, SNMP, DNS
