Mashable is seeking an ambitious, motivated and creative undergraduate (junior/senior) or graduate-level design intern for spring 2013. As a Graphic Design Intern you'll have the opportunity to work with and learn from Mashable's VP of Design across a wide range of web-related projects. This position will be based in our New York City Headquarters.
Graphic Design Intern responsibilities may include the following types of projects: creating visual assets for infographics, large-scale websites, mobile devices, illustrations, logos, banner campaigns, ad sales, style guides, and presentation materials. (Previous experience in these areas preferred.)
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Must be available a minimum of 18 hours a week
• Based in NYC
• Graphic design experience for print and web
• Capable of incorporating feedback and direction
• Proficiency with Mac platform and Adobe CS6 programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) along with PowerPoint/Keynote experience
• Appreciation for beautiful type design
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Hard worker who’s driven and has a fantastic attitude
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
Advantages:
• An understanding of website design structure and interactivity
• An interest in social media tools (Instagram, Twitter, iPad apps, etc.)
• Drawing/illustration skills
• Knowledge of the digital space and Mashable's core coverage areas
