Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Data Analyst to join the Analytics team at FiftyOne. As a member of our analytics team, you will consult with executives, directors and managers to identify critical metrics and key performance indicators needed to support our ongoing growth. You will work on complex projects dealing with specific business problems that require synthesizing data, distilling findings, and recommending next steps. You will be instrumental in helping our company make data-driven business decisions and will be involved in many aspects of building out a world class analytics environment and BI platform. This is a hands-on role, and you will get chance to leave an imprint from everything ranging from metrics and KPI definitions, to improving our OLAP warehouse and BI tools.

Position Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conducting studies to evaluate the corporate impact resulting from business strategies, client needs and/or changes in the market
Analyzing strategic options for various business units, and making recommendations for performance optimization based on analysis of operational and financial implications
Developing business forecasts based on an understanding of company objectives, strategies, trends and issues. Ensuring that strategies, objectives and projects are accurately reflected in the forecast
Participating in requirements gathering, analysis, design and development of current and future BI initiatives
Working with internal management teams and external clients to understand and define data requirements
Creating front-end reports and queries to provide data access to business users
Perform in-depth research and analysis regarding
o RFM (retention, frequency, monetary impact) analyses
o Cohort analyses
o Customer lifetime value and customer segmentation
o Consumer behavior, cross-sale opportunities
o A/B testing for new product features
o Impact of new product functionality on conversion rates

Qualifications

Required Skills / Competencies
o Solid understanding of data: how to organize it, how to model it, how to distill insights from it, and how to visualize it
o Intellectual curiosity; ability to draw connections and understand the “whys” as well as the “whats” in the data
o Excellent SQL skills (preferably experienced using analytic functions including partition windows)
o Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables at a minimum, VBA macros experience preferable)
o Good technical, problem solving, and analytical skills
o Eagerness to learn and ability to adapt
o Ability to work independently
o Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
o Strong quantitative, data tabulation and analytic skills
o Demonstrated keen sense of detail and accuracy
o Solid communication skills (interpersonal, written and oral)
o Familiarity with data warehouse design principles (OLAP, star schema fundamentals), familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts a plus

Experience / Background:
o 2+ years of related work experience in Business Intelligence analysis and reporting
o Prior Experience working with leading BI reporting tools
o Retail, CRM, or B2C e-commerce background a plus
o Undergraduate degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, information systems, computer science, or other quantitative field
