Job Description
You will be the lead software engineer in a mostly non-technical team. You will be looked upon as an advisor and an integral part of our organization--we aren't looking for "lone ranger" programmers. This role is specifically targeted at supporting and extending the operations of PlayFitness.
Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate:
Is comfortable with existing codebases - Learns existing code styles and suggests new improvements
Can design solutions for humans - Learns about the operations team and what will help them succeed
Can be own PM - Creates dev roadmaps for assigned features, estimates tasks, and reports progress on work
Can survive in short meetings - Needs to be ok with the occasional planning meeting
Thrives in full-stack ownership - Manages the back-end and the front-end of a product About The Platform
We need a polyglot programmer who balances elegance and pragmatism. An ideal engineer is comfortable in multiple languages and can pick up new technologies quickly. Currently PHP, JS, CSS HTML, MySQL with Joomla as back end.
As part of our project based on Microsoft Kinect technology C# and C++ is a plus.
