Job Description
Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.
Gilt is seeking an entry level System Engineer Intern looking for experience working in a fast-paced
technology startup in the IT department. As a System Engineer Intern you’ll get exposure to the
infrastructure that our employees use daily, including networking, systems, databases and storage
appliances. Depending on your interest and skill set, you’ll focus in one of these areas while gaining
exposure to the overall workings of a corporate network composed of hundreds of devices.
As a System Engineer Intern will you will be part of a team that provides 24 x 7 operational support for Gilt’s office infrastructure. You will work in small teams to support and maintain various systems and applications across the company. You’ll have the opportunity to apply operating system updates, patches and configuration changes to various systems. You’ll also learn to install, configure and maintain new hardware and software. As a Systems Engineer, your efforts to monitor, automate, and optimize our systems will empower and improve our employee’s productivity.
Qualified candidates must be pursing a degree in Bachelor of Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience and possess a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills plus relevant experience and/or training in system administration activities are also required. |
