Job Description
Meetup is seeking a front-end or full stack engineer with a passion and expertise for mobile web. As part of our team, you will work closely with other software engineers and product managers to build new features for our mobile site, allowing our members and organizers to access and enrich their Meetup experience anytime, anywhere
You will be expected to write clean and maintainable Javascript/HTML/CSS while advocating best practices, great usability and exceptional quality. Depending on your knowledge of server-side technologies, you will have the opportunity to help develop our APIs and tailor server responses to mobile product needs.
The mobile team includes native application developers (iOS and Android) and web developers working toward a consistent mobile experience that stays true to each platform. Our ideal candidate is creative and collaborative, knowledgeable of mobile web standards and current best practices, and has an eye for good design.
What we are looking for:
Prior work designing and programming a web-based mobile application
Experience writing maintainable HTML/CSS/Javascript
Knowledge of mobile browser capabilities and progressive enhancement techniques
Experience with a JavaScript framework, a server-side web framework (JSP, PHP, Rails, .NET, etc), and a version control system (we use Git)
Full-stack development experience writing Java, MySQL and APIs is a bonus
Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of our product
A passion and desire to work at a company trying to change the world
