Talk #1 : Go Modules Authentication,
Katie Hockman (Google)

This talk will discuss the Go checksum database & how it helps secure module downloads, covering some of the cryptography & the interactions with the go command. The talk will also touch on modules & mirrors.

Bio:
Katie Hockman joined the Go team in New York City last year as a software engineer, where she has been leading
the team that built the Go module mirror & checksum database. She worked at Google for three years before joining the Go team. Most recently, she was working on the accessibility team with the goal of making Google the best place to work for people with disabilities.

Talk #2 : Concurrency Examples in Go
Christopher Agocs (Nautilus Labs)

The Go programming language provides some powerful concurrency primitives, such as Goroutines & Channels. It can be non-obvious how to best leverage these. We'll live-code a few short but powerful examples that demonstrate some good concurrency practices in Go.

Bio:
Christopher Agocs is a helluva engineer from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently works for Nautilus Labs, where he is helping transform the maritime industry's ability to use data. In his free time, he likes building crappy robots & petting cats while they're sleeping.

This months host is Capital One. Thanks to Capital One for hosting us.
