Abstract: Value Stream Mapping has experienced a bit of a resurgence based on Agile scaling practices such as SAFe. VSM is actually at the core of Lean & has been in use for decades. In this presentation we will explore the history of value stream mapping, walk through the process for creating a value stream. We will discuss how we can leverage VSMs to aid in organizational design, frame objectives, & serve as the basis for Lean Portfolio Management.
Speaker: Mark Pushinsky Formerly a Director of Product Management at Capital One, Mark led transformational, large-scale software development programs using Design Thinking & Agile best practices. As a Certified Scrum Trainer, Mark has trained thousands of people both in & out of software development including Naval Special Warfare. Mark routinely challenges teams & executives to embrace these new ways for working through assessment, strategic planning, & executive coaching. Mark holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business, an M.S. in the Management of Information Technology from University of Virginia, & a B.A. in Business Administration from The College of William & Mary.
