EVENT DETAILS |
Please join us for a panel discussion on how researchers in both pharma & academia use big data & bioinformatics tools for drug discovery & drug repositioning. Feel free to send suggested questions to the organizer.
5:30pm:Check in6pm:Panel6:30pm: Networking cocktail hour
Panelists (so far):
Nicole Renaud, PhD, Novartis
Dr. Renaud has more than ten years of experience in molecular & computational biology-five of which has been spent in early drug discovery research. She earned a B.Sc. in Biology & Mathematics at Eastern Michigan University & a Ph.D. in Human & Statistical Genetics at Washington University.
Christine Hajdin, PhD, Ribometrix
Dr. Hajdinhas a diverse history implementing computational approaches in drug discovery. She worked as a Data Scientist at Explorys (now IBM Watson Health Care) & as an Investigator in the CADD group at Novartis. She currently utilizes her computational & screening expertise to improve the efficiency of the drug discovery pipeline at Ribometrix, where she is the associate director of computational sciences & screening.
Timothy Cardozo, MD-PhD, NYU Langone Health
Dr. Cardozo is a tenuredAssociate Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology at NYU School of Medicine. His research is focused on 3D-structure based rational drug design, molecular engineering, cheminformatics & bioinformatics. Dr. Cardozo was awarded a New Innovator award, a NIDA Avant-Garde Award for HIV/AIDS Research, an American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Grand Opportunities award & a Highly Innovative Tactics to Interrupt Transmission of HIV award. Dr. Cardozo was trained in the MSTP program at NYU School of Medicine to receive his MD & PhD degrees.
