Abstract:

In this session, one of the members of the team that launched AWS AppSync & Amplify will give a GraphQL introduction & motivations, cover common use cases, & discuss some more advanced concepts for production customers. Youll learn some history & how solutions work today across iOS, Android, & JavaScript applications including how the GraphQL Transformer in the Amplify Framework works. Youll see how to get up & running in minutes using GraphQL schemas, & how to customize the service for your needs. Well also cover how you can use GraphQL with rich media to build compelling applications for realtime or offline data.

Bio:

Richard Threlkeld is a Sr. Engineer in AWS Mobile & was the founding member of AWS AppSync & Amplify teams. Previously he worked in the field helping customers build web & mobile solutions with AWS technologies, including data processing for AdTech & Gaming industries. Today, he is responsible for the end to end experience for customers building mobile & web applications in the Amplify Framework.
