Two talks:

Talk1: Ninny json: type classes that know that none is not null by Nathan Fischer

ninny-json is an experiment to look at what JSON type classes would look like if they made a distinction between absent JSON fields, and fields with null values.

About our Speaker:

Nathan Fischer is a San Francisco based developer using Scala to increase productivity and push the errors to compile time.

Talk2: Leveraging tools from the Scala community to learn and teach Scala by Leo Benkel

Leo is going to present a selected collection of tools and online resources to learn Scala at your own pace. No matter if you are learning from scratch or improving the quality of your code or even getting more familiar with functional programming concepts, there is a resource for that !

About our speaker:

Leo Benkel grew up in France and has been living in San Francisco for the last 10 years. He is passionate about functional programming and teaches Scala at Demandbase. He enjoys designing/architecting libraries and software products. Simply, Leo loves exploring where nobody has ever been before and working with teams that want to create the "possible" out of the "improbable". His draw to exploration and adventure also carry over to life outside of work. When hes not working, Leo enjoys video games, movies, TV shows, board games, traveling, and eating/cooking good food.
