Title: Open Data 101 using NYC open data to build smart cities
Speaker:
Ralph Yozzo - Open Data Advocate
Abstract:
There is a lot of open data in government & New York City is the biggest open data source. Come & learn about many of the datasets & what you can do to build web applications to make the data accessible to everyone. For example, https://tax.tidalforce.org/ takes the New York City Assessment Roll & graphs it & allows you to compare between properties.
There are 1000's of datasets & you can build any web application based on government data & help build the smart city of tomorrow, today.
It is also Budget season & we will study the state of open data with respect to transparency & efficiency.
Bring your questions & applications.
