Please join us in the library at Betaworks Studios for this special livestream. Tristan Harris & Aza Raskin, co-founders of the Center for Humane Technology, will share their vision for a path forward.

Following the livestream, Center for Humane Tech policy advisor, Yael Eisenstat, & Betaworks CEO, John Borthwick, will be leading a group discussion in reaction to the livestream, focusing on where the tech industry is headed.

Yal has spent 18 years working around the globe on political, social, technology & security issues as a CIA Officer, a national security advisor to Vice President Biden, a diplomat, one of Facebook's Global Head of Elections Integrity Ops, a corporate social responsibility strategist at ExxonMobil, & the head of a global risk firm. John Borthwick has been a leader & early-stage investor in New York technology for over two decades. As founder & CEO of Betaworks, he has led the company building & investment process since 2008. Companies built by Betaworks include Giphy, Dots, bitly, & Chartbeat.


Prior to Betaworks, John was SVP of Alliances & Technology Strategy for Time Warner; CEO of Fotolog, one of the first social photo sharing sites; & head of AOL's product development studio after they acquired his first company, WP Studio, one of Silicon Alley's first content studios. He currently serves on the boards of WNYC, New York Public Radio, Data & Society, Giphy, Dots, & Blade. John holds an MBA from Wharton & a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University.
