OVERVIEW
This two-part series explores the fundamentals of financial modeling & valuation involving startups & emerging technologies, & how to leverage your intellectual property (IP)portfolio for funding & growth. Part 1 in the series, Telling Your Story with Numbers: Building a Fundable Financial Model, lays the foundation for the creation of a balanced, realistic & fundable financial model, while highlighting some of the pitfalls to avoid when presenting your financial plan to investors. Part 2 in the series, Monetizing Innovation: Leveraging Intellectual Property for Funding & Growth, explores the interaction between IP assets & corporate value, & how to manage your IP portfolio to support funding & growth.
Efrat Kasznik, President of Foresight Valuation Group, Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, & Chair of the High Tech Sector of the Licensing Executives Society (USA-Canada), will share insights from her 25 years of experience as an IP valuation & strategy expert, as well as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, CFO, investor & advisor. Throughout her career, Efrat has advised hundreds of companies of all sizes & across a wide range of industries, on how to extract value from innovation.

Efrat Kasznik, President, Foresight Valuation Group& Lecturer, Stanford Graduate School of Business
Ms. Kasznik is an intellectual property (IP) & valuation expert, with 25 years ofconsulting experience, focusing on assisting clients with the creation, commercialization & monetization of their IP assets. She specializes in analyzing andvaluing IP portfolios for a range of purposes, including: mergers & acquisitions, financialreporting, technology commercialization decisions, tax compliance, transfer pricing, litigationdamages & business liquidations. She has worked with hundreds corporate clients that range insize from Fortune 100 to start-ups, as well as law firms, universities, research institutions, inventors, IPbrokers & patent funds.
Ms. Kasznik is the founder & president of Foresight Valuation Group, a Silicon-Valleybased IP valuation & start-up advisory firm. She is a Lecturer on IP Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, & is a frequent speakerand author on IP & startup valuation at conferences, workshops & webinars. Throughout her career, Ms. Kasznik has also served as a co-founder, CFO & advisor to several Silicon Valley startups, & she currently serves as a mentor to several startup incubators in the US, Europe & Israel, where she routinely advises startupson topics related to business strategy, financial modeling & IP portfolio management.
Ms. Kasznik is actively involved with the Licensing Executives Society (LES), a global networking & educational society of IP professionals. She currently holds the position of Chair of the High-Tech Sector of LES USA-Canada, & also serves as a Board Member of the LES-Silicon Valley Chapter.Ms. Kasznik has been listed on the IAM 300 list of World Leading IP Strategists every year since 2013.
