Join Black Public Media & Ashley Baccus-Clark, co-founder of Hyphen-Labs, for our second VR mixer. We will be screening the new untethered version of NEUROSPECULATIVE AFROFEMINISM onSamsung Gear VR & Oculus Go. Since its debut at Sundance Film Festival in 2017, NSAF has only beenonly available for the Oculus Rift. In addition to completing the mobile version of NSAF, Hyphen-Labs designed the memorial wall for the National Safety Council's PRESCRIBED TO DEATH campaign, which just won six Cannes Lions in June 2018.
If you've never worn a VR headset before, this is the perfect meetup to learn more about the craft of VR filmmaking. Twenty-minute VR-viewing slots will be available on a first come, first served basis. Admission to the event will end at 7 pm. The VR line will close at 8 pm. The mixer ends at 8:30 pm.
Funded by Corporation for Public Broadcasting, MacArthur Foundation, & others, Black Public Media educates, mentors, & funds Black, independent filmmakers & programming about the Black experience from around the globe. In an effort to increase the amount of Black creatives working in VR, an industry in which African-Americans are vastly under-represented, BPM recently launched the BPM+ screening series in New York City.

Thursday, October 11th, at WeWork Harlem (5:30-8:30 pm) - this meetup will focus on artificial intelligence.
