About this Event
Join us on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, for a women-led panel discussion on career paths in data science. Hear more about the journey of our bootcamp alumnae Kathryn Bryant, Data Scientist at SeatGeek & Sheetal Darekar, Manager of Data Science & Analytics at Verizon, & of Vivian Zhang, School Director & CTO of NYC Data Science Academy.
Vivian has many years of practical experience in data technologies & the analytics, & has the expertise in multiple programming languages including R, Python, Hadoop, & Spark. She was ranked in "9 Women Leading The Pack In Data Analytics" by Forbes in August 2016. She enjoys meeting people & enjoys sharing her experiences with young professionals & students.
Kathryn is a PhD in math. After graduating in 2016, she worked for a year as an assistant professor of mathematics at Colorado College in Colorado Springs before deciding to switch into data science. In Fall 2017, she moved to New York to take the bootcamp at NYCDSA. She got her first data science job with National Grid. After two years with National Grid, she joined SeatGeek in February 2020 as a data scientist. She will be focusing on projects that support the marketing teams & help grow SeatGeek's user base.
Sheetal has earned her Master's degree in Information Technology Management majoring in Analytics from The University of Texas at Dallas. At Verizon Consumer Marketing Group, she is responsible for driving brand & creative strategies based on predictive analytical insights for Verizon Up - Verizon's loyalty program. She has about 9 years of telecommunication experience in various roles at T-Mobile, Ericsson & Accenture involving Data Science, Business Intelligence, Project Management & Software Development.
