Join us for an in-person workshop on the basics of ideation with guest presenter Emily Fishbaine, a User Experience Researcher & Strategist at Globant. Ideation is much more than getting a few folks together in a room, or on Zoom, & "brainstorming." It's a series of techniques that bring playfulness & creativity to a design question in order to create the environment for innovative problem solving.

To generate meaningful & sustainable ideas that improve a product, service, or organization, you need to start by understanding your problem space. Consider these questions: Who are your users? What are some of their unmet needs? What are all the existing issues here? What should we solve first? Why? How might our ideas impact the larger ecosystem?

For this workshop, we'll assume that some research on the problem space has been done, & some of the questions above have been answered. Keeping that research in mind, you will learn about the fundamentals of ideation & will cover the process of generating new ideas to solve problems that have been identified. We will learn how to step beyond ordinary solutions, & participate in a series of creative exercises to gain hands-on experience. By the end of the workshop, you should be able to implement the tools that you have learned to develop ideas that effectively solve your project's problems.

The Design & Innovation Studio is a series of interactive workshops that guide participants through each stage of the Design Thinking process. The workshops are led by invited guests who are experts in their field. Participants will have a chance to get hands-on experience through collaborative exercises, learn about our guest's professional journeys, & ask questions.
