CALLING ALL PUBLIC MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NYC!!!
NYC is one of the most diverse cities in the world & a place where people of all different ethnicities, genders, nationalities & backgrounds live.Join the Games for Change Student Challenge for a full day of game design focused on diversity, equity & inclusion in NYC!
On Jan 26th, G4C challenges you to learn the fundamentals of game design & kickstart your creativity:
Learn essential game concepts by remixing classics like Tic-Tac-Toe & Rock, Paper, Scissors
Put pen to paper & outline your dream impact game
Test your ideas with a physical prototype that you'll play with friends
Flesh out your mechanics in a digital space using platforms like Scratch & Unity
Get tips from professional game designers
Try out games created by your peers
We are thankful to our partners at the NYC Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment for supporting this theme & to New York Public Library/MyLibraryNYC for hosting us at such an iconic institution!
Quick Reminders
Please do not bulk register students who may not attend! We prefer to receive confirmed RSVPs when possible.
This event is free & open to all middle & high public school students in NYC.
Students are not required to bring laptops to the event. All technology will be provided.
No prior game design experience necessary! We welcome everyone from Scratch newbies to Unity pros.
Feel free to bring your own game, even if it's unrelated to the current theme. Our facilitators will be happy to give you tips!
Complimentary lunch (and snacks!) will be provided for student attendees.
