What: The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) & the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY cordially invite you (or your designee) to participate in a one-day convening of drone technology experts, newsroom leaders, educators & federal/state/local government agencies & first-responders to discuss the most pressing issues in drone use & how journalists, newsrooms & government may better orient themselves around issues of safety, operations, ethics & more.
Who: The FAA & DHS will present updates on the latest drone regulatory landscape such as Remote ID & flights over people. We'll also hear from drone journalism leaders from CNN, Advance, Sinclair, USA Today & others as well as from DJI, law enforcement officials, first-responders, legal experts & insurance representatives. For those of you on the legal side of news organizations, please feel free to pass along to someone in editorial who you think may benefit from/contribute to the program & have them RSVP.
When: Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Breakfast & registration begin at 8:00am with program commencing at 9:00am & running through 5:00pm. We will also provide lunch & plan to have a networking reception immediately following the conclusion of the program.
