EVENT DETAILS
Join marketing & storytelling experts to learn key elements to create maximum impact! Establish your brand & product through the power of storytelling.

Benefits of storytelling in a pitch include:
Grabbing their attention with an engaging narrative!
Increasing the interest in your company, product or service.
Using real-world examples to make data meaningful & memorable.
Earning your prospect's trust by creating a bond.
Motivating people to take a specific action by demonstrating the positive results of doing so.
Effective sales pitches don't just focus on how amazing your product is; they focus on how it will help the buyer solve a problem or overcome a challenge. Compelling stories also include an arc, to increase the odds of connecting with your audience & triggering that trust-based oxytocin boost. Pack the most meaning into a single anecdote by setting the scene & introducing your characters before diving into the central problem to be resolved.

The best stories hook the audience with suspense, drama, & conflict.

Dawn Hunter, founder of Swoobie, is an entrepreneur & host of the Consumer Products Group (CPG) on both Eventbrite & MeetUp.com, working to build a community of resources for people making things. In the course of Dawn's first year on NYC's startup circuit, she realized there are few resources or knowledge pools for startups creating a physical component, from biometric monitors to chew toys or fashion accessories. In parallel with the development of her new consumer product for women (Swoobie - absorbent & disposable bra liners for boob sweat), Dawn has established the Getting It Made series to bring another resource to the rich tapestry of opportunities available to NYC's startup community. A site is in the works to expand on this series for the product-oriented community.
