Join us on January 31st for our first event of 2018 -
"The Role of Offshore Wind in the Development of a Greener Grid"
This topic is central to New York's stated goal of realizing 50% of total electricity demand from renewable sources by 2030. Governor Cuomo's has committed New York to procuring 2.4 GW of new offshore wind capacity by 2030, & in doing so has captured the interest of the world's leading offshore wind developers.Governor Cuomo just announced his intentions to issue solicitations in 2018 & 2019 to develop at least 800 MW of offshore wind projects.And other recent developments, including Statoil's successful bid to lease 80,000 acres in the Long Island Sound sets the stage for the development of +1GW Empire Wind farm. Empire Wind, along with Deepwater Wind's 90MW offshore wind project with LIPA, will utilize the wind industry's latest turbine technology & position New York as global leader in offshore wind deployment.
