Is Artificial Intelligence or Intelligence Augmentation the answer to making better financial decisions? Zhou & Poirier are two experts offering insight on the breakthroughs taking place & shaping the future of the finance industry & beyond.

Xunyu Zhou is theLiu Family Professor of Financial Engineering andDirector of the FDT Center for Intelligent Asset Management atColumbia University.He is an IEEE fellow & a SIAM fellow, & recipient of many awards & honors, including the Wolfson Research Award from The Royal Society, the Outstanding Paper Prize from SIAM, the Humboldt Distinguished Lecturer & the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship. He was an invited speaker at the 2010 International Congress of Mathematicians. Before joining Columbia, he was the Nomura Professor of Mathematical Finance at the Universityof Oxford, heading the Mathematical & Computational Finance Group & directing the Oxford-Nie Financial Big Data Lab.


Eric Poirier spearheads Addepar's mission to solve the financial sector's intractable data & scale challenges. Before joining Addepar, he spent nearly 7 years at Palantir Technologies, creating tools that enable organizations to make sense of large, disparate datasets. One of Palantir's first 20 employees, he shaped its core technology while building the finance business, which now represents half of the company's revenue base. Earlier in his career, Eric worked in Lehman Brothers' Fixed Income Analytics group, modeling, simulating, & visualizing data across a broad range of debt & credit instruments. Eric graduated from Columbia University with a BS in Computer Science.
