Join us for our first 2020 event of our Foundations of Entrepreneurship series.

We will be presenting our 2020 update on the venture capital financing market for early-stage companies. The panel will feature representatives from some of the top funds & organizations, both large & small. Together, they will be addressing the outlook for early-stage VC financing for the coming year, as well as providing attendees with practical advice on identifying & connecting with VCs. Topics to be addressed include the following:

The current state of the VC financing market for early-stage companies & trends to look for
Strategies for identifying & connecting with the right VC for your company
Advice for preparing pitch materials & navigating through the first meetings with interested VCs
Common mistakes in the VC financing process & how to avoid them
With attendees to include principals of startup to mid-size technology companies as well as investors, & with ample time for Q&A & networking, this session will be an outstanding source of practical, real-world guidance & useful contacts.

Tracy Chadwell, Founding Partner, 1843 Capital

Tracy Killoren Chadwell is the Founding Partner of 1843 Capital, an early stage venture capital fund. She has over 15 years experience in venture capital & private equity. She has 5 years of experience investing in early stage companies with a female founder through her personal entity Coyote Capital. Tracy was Partner of a growth capital fund - Baker Capital which had more than $1 Billion under management. As a frequent speaker & startup competition judge,Tracy has developed a broad network in the female founder community. She is a member of Women in VC & Private Equity Women Investor Network. A trusted board member, she serves on the boards of Marstone & Sachs Insights. Her philanthropic work includes the Advisory Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum, Executive Advisor for the Echoing Green Foundation & New York Institute of Technology. She acts as a mentor for both Techstars KC & Monarq. She is an attorney & earned her JD at Loyola University of Chicago. Tracy speaks conversational Japanese & restaurant French.

Meghan Cross, Partner, Amplifyher Ventures

Meghan joined Amplifyher as a startup operator & investor. Previously, as the founding Managing Partner of Red Bear Angels, she built the Cornell alumni angel network of 100+ HNWI & led 25+ investments including Datalogue, Grokstyle [acq. Facebook], & Lyft [NASDAQ: LYFT]. Meghan received her venture training from Foundation Capital & Bowery Capital. As a startup operator, she was an early Director at StyleCaster, Inc (acq. She Knows Media) & a Public Relations specialist for Skype & Foursquare during their early years. Meghan received her B.S. in Fiber Science from Cornell University & M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

Sharla Grass, Senior Associate, Greycroft

Sharla is a Senior Associate at Greycroft focused primarily on working with & evaluatnig consumer-facing, healthcare, & marketplace companies. Prior to joining Greycroft, Sharla worked at Uber as an Operations Manager, where her responsibilities included developing driver & rider incentives & reducing fraud. Sharla started her career at Altman Vilandrie & Company, a boutique TMT strategy consulting firm, where she focused on due diligence of telecom infrastructure assets.

Barry Osherow, Partner - Structured Capital, Level Equity

Barry Osherow is a partner at Level Equity & manages its structured capital business. Barry joined Level in October 2016 & was most recently with Enhanced Capital Partners where he was Managing Partner / Investment Committee Member of the firm's $225 million SBIC fund. Prior to joining Enhanced Capital in 2008, Mr. Osherow served as Principal & Head of Direct Lending at TICC Capital (formerly Nasdaq: TICC; now Oxford Lane), a business development company (BDC) focused on lending to technology companies, where he was also a member of the founding team in 2002, when the business was known as Technology Investment Capital Corp. Previously, Mr. Osherow was an Associate in the Private Equity Group at Wit Capital (which became SoundView Technology Group) focused on raising private equity for technology & Internet businesses & was a member of the founding team in 1996. Prior to that, Mr. Osherow was Vice President of Business Development at Spring Street Brewing Company & an Associate with Lehman Brothers. He graduated from Babson College in 1994 with a BS & a concentration in International Business.

Alan Wink, Managing Director - Capital Markets, EisnerAmper

Alan Wink, Managing Director - Capital Markets, assists clients with capital budgeting, capital structuring & capital sourcing. Alan has 20 years of financial & consulting experience, having served as Director of the Interfunctional Management Consulting Program at Rutgers Graduate School of Management, a program he helped build into one of the largest business school-based management consulting practices in the country. He started his career in accounting, spending six years on the audit staff of a Big 4 accounting firm & a Fortune 500 Company. Alan left the accounting field to expand his horizons in the area of Corporate Finance. Alan spent several years as Director of Financial Analysis for AmBase Corporation (NYSE), where he led approximately $2 billion of corporate acquisition activity. He is also a past Vice President of Capricorn Management, a $100 million private equity fund specializing in restructuring & turnaround opportunities. In addition, Alan is a leader in the firm's Technology Group, providing a variety of industry-specific services to technology & life sciences firms, including business & strategic planning, marketing & competitive analyses, financing assistance, & operational & financial benchmarking. He has worked with many early stage & emerging growth companies on developing the appropriate capital structure for their position in the business life cycle. He maintains an active contact base with angel investors, venture capital funds & private equity funds.
