5 woman-founded startups will pitch a panel of women judges.
We are excited to announce the finalists for the Make It in Brooklyn Female Founders pitch contest, to be held Thursday, February 27th at the Downtown Brooklyn HQ of previous MIIB pitch contest winner, Propel.
The startups are:
Metapyxl, founded by Tiffany Walling McGarrity, is peer-to-peer authentication software that encrypts digital media with a secure proof of ownership locked in metadata.
Cognitive ToyBox, founded by Tammy Kwan, is a platform that prepares children for school readiness by gamifying lessons.
BNDL, founded by Kandice Watson, is a platform to help busy parents get the clothes they need for their growing babies cheaper, quicker, & greener.
Make It Black, founded by Amanda Grogan, takes deadstock clothing & dyes it completely black, indistinguishable from virgin black clothing.
PracticeWheels, founded by Mandy Kouroshnia & Melika Farshad, takes Airbnb to the medical office, allowing doctors with unused hours & days to rent their space to doctors getting a private practice off the ground.

Liz Sisson, Chief Operating Officer at Urban.Us

Emcee for the evening is Business Insider reporter Ellen Cranley.
Tickets are good for drinks, food, & time to network with founders, investors, & members of Brooklyn's tech community.
The winner will receive a $5,000 prize courtesy of MIIB keynote sponsors JPMorgan Chase & Co. & NYU Tandon School of Engineering, as well as a free consultation with EA Creative Consulting to review business plan & strategy.
