**Practical Experience Building an Enterprise Trading System (Crystal) with Rust & MongoDB**

In his talk Michael will cover the following: (1) Background on the technical challenges we needed to solve to provide sales & trading with real-time collaboration tools & the ability to immediately manipulate GBs (and in some cases TBs) to price less liquid securities & block trades (2) Live code the functionality which populates our product db

Michael is the founder & CEO of Mies Jansen, Inc, a company focused on delivering analytics & technology for capital markets. Michael previously co-managed electronic trading, front office quants & the technology budget for Fixed Income at Morgan Stanley.

**MongoDB & Rust - Past, Present, & Future**

This presentation will detail the history of the unofficial MongoDB Rust driver & highlight some of unique benefits of using MongoDB with Rust as well as describe some of the future work that is planned for the driver.

*Saghm* is one of the co-authors & co-maintainers of the unofficial MongoDB Rust driver. He currently works at MongoDB on the Ruby driver & the Mongoid ODM after stints on the C++ driver & the soon-to-be-released Go driver.
