What is Actions on Google?
Actions on Google let you build for the Google Assistant. Your integrations can help you engage users through Google Home today, & in the future, through Pixel, Allo, & many other experiences where the Google Assistant will be available.
What are Conversation Actions?
Conversation Actions help you fulfill user requests by letting you have a two-way dialog with users. When users request an action, the Google Assistant processes this request, determines the best action to invoke, & invokes your Conversation Action if relevant. From there, your action manages the rest, including how users are greeted, how to fulfill the user's request, & how the conversation ends.

We have an excellent guest speaker by the name of Jonathan Bloom joining us from Google NYC to share his knowledge on VUI Design.

Jonathan Bloom is a Voice User Interface Designer working on Google Assistant. Before Google, he worked as UX Research Lead & Voice User Interface Designer for Jibo, the social robotics company. He also spent time as Senior Voice User Interface Manager for Nuance Communications, where he sat on Nuances Innovation Steering Committee. He has designed both graphic & speech interfaces for social robots, IVRs, dictation software, automotive, & mobile applications. Jon lives in New Jersey & works out of Google's New York office. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the New School Graduate Faculty. Jon is also a husband, father of two, self-published fiction author, black belt in Isshinryu karate, & a lousy bass player in a "dad band
