As designers & creatives, it can be a great exercise to take a break from work projects & make something truly personal - something that speaks to us in ways that professional work doesn't. This practice is hard to develop, though, & hard to make room for in a busy schedule. In this session of Designers + Geeks, we'll hear from Adam about how he turned deeply personal creative work into a whole career.
About the Speaker
Adam J. Kurtz (aka @adamjk) is an artist & author whose illustrative work is rooted in honesty, humor & a little darkness. His first book, 1 Page at a Time, has been translated into over a dozen languages. His very personal work for clients like Strand Bookstore & Urban Outfitters has been featured in NYLON, VICE, Adweek & more. His newest book, Things Are What You Make of Them is available now from Penguin Random House.
