How do visual analytics apps like Tableau or Power BI work under the hood? How can I scale visualizations to work with trillions of records? How can I make an analytical app easy enough so that *anyone can use it*, not just data scientists & analysts?
These are the types of questions tackled in UX + Design of Analytical Apps, a class taught in Columbia Universitys Master of Science in Applied Analytics program. The class has worked with Google, The United Nations, the City of New York, Bloomberg & Disney to design solutions to make data more accessible to the masses.
Our own Matthew Weber (founder of the UX + Data Meetup) is the Lecturer & Class Designer & will walk us through principles taught in the class to make data easier to understand for all, as well as showcasing breakthrough student work.
