Join Journalism +Design & Joe Germuska, aka Chief Nerd at Northwestern's Knight Lab, for a hands-on workshop that wrestles with the systems behind the news. Container ships & computer systems have revolutionized the business of stuff from large (Amazon, Walmart) to small (Etsy, Adafruit) by reimagining the jobs to be done & dividing the work in new ways.
In this workshop, we'll map the idea of supply chain management onto journalism & look for ways to think differently about systems for collecting, understanding, & distributing information.
Journalism + Designis an interdisciplinary program at The New School that merges design methodologies & systems thinking in an effort to untangle the complex problems of 21st century journalism. Through classes, workshops, & events, we seek to inspire journalists to imagine & implement what the future of journalism might look like. We are a place for playful experimentation, where new forms & unexpected strategies emerge.
