In this talk, Michael will share his experience living & working in Tokyo, Japan for both Intel & Lenovo. He will share what it was like to be the Product go-to-person for high tech companies. He will also share his strategy for getting what he needed from headquarters. His relationships with the sales teams, & from a personal perspective, his experience during the 2011 Earthquake & why he decided to stay in Tokyo. If anyone in the Product School community is thinking about going abroad to do a Product Manager role but is not quite sure, then they surely will not want to miss this. Or, if are looking for insights about how to build products that appeal to Asian markets, especially Japan, then this is a session for you. Meet the Speaker: Michael Campbell

Michael Campbell is an entrepreneurial Business Leader with extensive experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, & Business Development that has successfully transformed organizations to achieve bottom line results. He has helped organizations think globally & act locally with the customer in mind while contributing profitability to their bottom-line. He was most recently the General Manager of Mobile Sales in Tokyo, Japan for NEC Lenovo Group where he managed a $130M business. Prior to this role, he was the Head of Products where he was responsible for the product planning of NEC PC & the Product Management of Lenovo's product portfolio in Japan. Before Lenovo, Michael was a Senior Regional Product Marketing Manager at Intel where he helped the company break into the hot tablet market with Japanese partners. Currently, Michael is the Founder & Managing Director of FullEffect International. A boutique consulting firm that helps small & medium sized businesses with go-to-market programs from strategy to execution.
